Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. Deuel County Criminal History does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site may be retained long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server to receive routine technical information about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help show, in aggregate, which pages draw traffic and where a visit ends. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Diagnosing faults and maintaining site performance
- Routing a query to the search provider selected by the user
- Measuring which reference pages are useful
- Serving and evaluating advertising
- Protecting the service from misuse
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Deuel County Criminal History does not maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Deuel County Sheriff, County and District Courts, Nebraska State Patrol CID, and Nebraska Sex Offender Registry. Visitor information is not assembled into a consumer report or a third-party criminal profile, and the site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted to a partner is governed by that company's privacy terms, retention rules, and sharing practices rather than this policy. Review the partner's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Deuel County offices, Nebraska court systems, state agencies, legal resources, or outside search tools. Once a reader leaves this domain, the destination's policy controls. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising services may use their own technology to measure activity across sites and select ads. That processing occurs under the advertising provider's rules.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be available to these limited recipients:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used for information in the site's control. No internet service can promise perfect security, so an unauthorized event remains possible despite those precautions.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A substantiated request concerning a minor's information will be reviewed for deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy law may provide rights over personal data held by a private website. The Nebraska Public Records Law, Neb. Rev. Stat. § 84-712, separately governs requests to public offices; it does not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised as services or legal duties change. A new version will appear here with its current effective date.
